Pistons are a wearable component in truck parts that are used frequently and suffer rapid wear during the operation of a truck's engine. To reduce wear and save maintenance costs, the technology for manufacturing and processing pistons has been continuously improving. So how should modern piston products be selected? 1.Currently, aluminum alloys are the most commonly used material for pistons. For example, the engine of the HOWO 371 336 horsepower vehicle uses grade 109 aluminum alloy for the pistons. In the actual operation of the engine, the pistons have strong steel strength, good heat conduction, high resistance to high temperatures and pressures, and corrosion resistance. Generally, high-quality pistons are heavier, which helps to improve their operating stability, reduce noise, and minimize vibration.

2.Piston size and manufacturing process：The size of the piston should be selected in accordance with the size specified by the original equipment manufacturer, as it will not affect the normal operation of the engine. Otherwise, if the piston is too large, it may affect the smooth operation, while if it is too small, it may cause a shortage of power supply. From an aesthetic perspective, a piston with a smooth and seamless appearance and excellent craftsmanship is considered a high-quality product. We select piston products that are suitable for our needs by providing our suppliers with information such as the engine model, piston product model, and pictures.

3.Piston ring selection:The piston ring plays a role in preventing oil leakage during piston operation, protecting the piston, and cleaning accumulated carbon. Good piston rings can extend the service life of the piston. High temperature resistance and wear resistance are the two most important qualities of a piston ring. We can judge the quality of a product by its weight and its appearance and craftsmanship. Generally, heavier weight, better material, smooth surface, and piston rings with obvious cutting and polishing on their cross-sectional surface indicating the use of ring cutting technology, which provides better protection for the piston, maintaining an appropriate gap, and if heat treatment technology is used to improve the product's high temperature resistance, we can see that the piston ring has a light blue coating.

4.Cylinder gasket and cylinder liner selection: Both the cylinder gasket and cylinder liner play a protective role for the piston.

① High-quality cylinder gasket and cylinder liner can extend the service life of the piston. When the thickness of the gasket is fixed, we can determine the technical quality of the product by the number of steel layers in the gasket. The more layers, the better the technology and higher the resistance to high temperatures. Secondly, we should pay attention to the material of the sealing ring, which is better when made of imported rubber, which is more resistant to corrosion and water.

②The selection criteria for cylinder liners mainly focus on dimensions, model compatibility with the original factory engine standards, and product materials. For products of the same model, heavier weight indicates better material quality, indicating a higher proportion of chemical metal composition.
