Family stability cannot be achieved without the efforts of everyone, and the stability of a truck's operation cannot be achieved without the support of all truck components, including the thrust rod, which is the most important component on a truck when it comes to steering.

Thrust rod plays a main role in preventing the rear axle of a truck from shifting, especially when the truck is turning. It helps the truck withstand traction forces. In the market, there are many products with different prices, so how do we judge the quality of each thrust rod?

Most of the manufacturing processes for thrust rods in the market are only two: one is made using raw steel, and the other is a forged thrust rod. By observing the ball end of the thrust rod, we can make a quality judgment. A smooth ball end is made of raw steel and has no trace of forging, indicating a high-quality product. A rough ball end with obvious forging marks is a low-quality product. Additionally, we can also tell the difference in quality based on the material used for the ball end: steel-made ball ends are of better quality than iron-made ones.

When made of raw steel, the quality of the product can be identified by the steel number. The smaller the number, the stronger the steel and the more wear-resistant it is.

The center shaft of the thrust rod is generally made of standard steel, and a larger diameter of the center shaft indicates better quality and less likelihood of breakage. A diameter of 54mm is a normal specification, while a diameter of 60mm is a thicker specification.

In practical use, a high-quality thrust rod feels smooth when operated, without any sense of sticking, while a poor-quality one may make a noise when turning, with a greater sense of resistance.
